The Library is celebrating New York State History Month with a Roc City book display AND the Women's Suffrage Travelling Exhibit from the Rochester Regional Library Council! Learn about the history of Women's Suffrage in New York from 1848-1920! With five panels of pictures, graphics, and information, the traveling exhibit celebrates the centennial of women’s suffrage in New York State and is located on the second floor by the Archives Reading Room. You can also view more information here.
The Roc City book display features several books that focus on Rochester's history, including the impact of the Erie Canal, religious revivals, the rise of industry and famous Americans that lived here. There are also several volumes that focus on the city's neighborhoods, like Dutch Town & Swillburg. Thank you to Library student assistant Tyler Davis for researching Rochester and creating the cityscape.
