Library Faculty "Attend" ACL Virtual Conference

Have you ever wanted to attend a professional conference with your entire team but could not close the library to do so? Well, the Golisano Library faculty were able to "attend" the Association of Christian Librarians' 2016 virtual conference on Wednesday, February 17th, while students were away on winter break. The theme was "Beyond 4 Walls: The role of the librarian in distance learning & online education," which the faculty found extremely relevant given the growing availability of online higher education. There were three 1-hour presentations in the afternoon conference. The presenters included Steven Bell from Temple University, Fred Stielow (an independent contractor working with an online university), and Yvonne Mery from the University of Arizona. While all sessions were informative, Yvonne Mery's session sparked the most interest to our librarians.
