Dr. Barry Hamilton Retires

In order to enhance his primary calling as a researcher and writer, Dr. Barry Hamilton, Theological Librarian and Professor of Historical & Contemporary Theology, retired effective January 30, 2015. Dr. Hamilton has served Northeastern Seminary and Roberts Wesleyan College since 1999. In choosing an early retirement, Dr. Hamilton looks forward to the opportunity to dedicate himself fully to his next research and publishing project—and hopefully many more in the years to come!

During his tenure, Dr. Hamilton has served in dual roles at both the Library and as faculty member at Northeastern Seminary. We are grateful for his work in the Library, especially in relation to the development of the Library's collections in the biblical, theological, and religious studies.  He was also a valuable research consultant for students needing to draw on those library resources. At Northeastern Seminary, in addition to teaching a regular rotation of courses, Dr. Hamilton contributed significantly to the development of the Doctor of Ministry program and the research methodology components of both the doctoral and master's degree programs.

Barry has served the College with excellence, dedication, and humility and he will be greatly missed. A celebration of Barry’s service was held on Thursday, January 29 at the Fireside Reading Room in the Golisano Library.
