Roberts Wesleyan's athletic teams are partnering with Uganda Water Project with the goal of raising $10,000 to provide clean water stations for 3 schools.
During the week of September 18th-22nd, athletes will be carrying large water bottles in class to draw attention to the 2 billion people worldwide who live in water-stressed situations. That is in such a contrast with the Great Lakes basin that we live in, where .3% of the world's population (30 Million people) have access to 21% of the world's fresh surface water.
Students wearing special T-shirts have actually accepted the challenge to live on just 5 gallons of water a day for the week. The average American uses 100 gallons a day.
